Date of the Interview: 29.05.2024

Short Summary of the interview:

The focus group explored four main themes, namely: challenges encountered; Digital Game-Based Learning (DGBL); teachers’ knowledge and skills; transversal skills. The participants shared that the main challenges encountered so far are connected to finding the right techniques to face specific linguistic challenges, such as reading, verb paradigms and syntax. DGBL is a valuable resource that offers inclusive solutions and helps boosting motivation, even if sometimes it can pose logistic issues in classroom management and support to pupils in the implementation process. In terms of training, there is the necessity of both more space for exchange and peer learning with colleagues and more specific training on techniques to properly support LDs cases. As for developed skills, inclusive teaching helps all students increase their metacognitive abilities, confidence, empathy and enhancement of their own strengths.

Most important statement

“One of the main skills that teachers should have and develop is the creativity and flexibility to find the right approach for each situation”.
