Occupation: English teacher

Small bio / CV:

Antonella is an English language and culture teacher with around 30 years of experience in teaching foreign languages.

Date of the Interview: 10.05.2024

Short Summary of the interview:

In order to ensure an inclusive teaching approach, Antonella relies mainly on two factors, flexibility and differentiation. Given that each student with LD come with a certificate that helps identifying the specific necessities that need to be addressed, her teaching practice provides different inputs, together with adjusting the evaluation process considering the student’s skills. It is important to plan the teaching practice keeping in mind that the more the activities are diverse, the more the students will be able to participate successfully according to their strengths. Therefore, she uses different tools and techniques (i.e. hybrid books with digital features, interactive board, concept maps, etc.), or, for example, focuses on oral skills rather than on the written ones when it comes to evaluation.

Most important statement

“Evaluation has to be adequate to the student’s skills and strengths”.
